Specially for @3narf and @woodbutcher, here is my new single-speed acquisition - I hope you're ready for this ... ^_^

I rescued it from the tip for the princely sum of £10, because I thought it looked interesting. It came with no cranks and silly three-foot-wide handlebars. I already had a suitably ludicrous pair of red and yellow cranks and some cut-down bars from a sacrificial bike I bought last year, so the only extra expense has been a new chain. After some patient deployment of WD40 the seized-up folding mechanisms work, although I doubt it will ever get folded up again. It's steel, but light for a folder, and the handling is a bit, well, interesting - probably not suitable for anyone who belongs to Drago's tall club but then I'm five foot one .

I suspect it isn't a bike that will get a lot of use. Mainly it will probably be reserved for friends to ride up and down the road when a bit pissed, preferably wearing long shoes, a red nose, and a plastic bowler hat, while the rest of us point and laugh.

I give you, Bike Number Nine: The Circus Bike:

No, they are just for other people when they have to ride it, in case they see anyone who knows them.

Think I bought a pair of those pedals for my wife's bike - they cost more than £10!

    Good bargain

Yes, but he has to factor in the shoes and nose. Which will be double cost more than the bike.

    Good find though OP.

The tip is run by Veolia, and the 'shop' that sells anything saleable (including bikes) is run by a charity, I think it's YMCA. They always have bikes, but usually they're all rusty kids' MTBs, that's why this one caught my eye.
