My tyres - any thoughts?

I think most of this 'damage' has been hidden on the old wheels/rims.

what are you thoughts. finance is tight right now because I have just purchased new wheels/cassette & chain and these tyres were new back in September. they have only done 3,750km (2,333 miles) but have seen me through this last winter and the bike is stored outside so has been subjected to a lot of low temps.

From what I can see, it appears to only affect the very top level of rubber - if that is the case, are the 'safe' to carry on using? Front and rear are equally as affected, so it could be wear. All of the 'cracks' are lateral.

I have the same tyres and they look very similar, be interested in responses from others too.

Hoping it's just superficial, though they have done a few thousand miles.

Perhaps I should add/clarify - they are schwalbe durano pluses for those not recognising them from the photos!

thank you - at first glance (tea is cooking) it seems it is nothing more than superficial which is what I was hoping. Previous tyres on my tourers have covered significantly more mileage before needing replacing, but with these being at 110psi I was not sure.

I wonder if those cracks are high pressure (?? over-inflating)** cracks, caused by the temperature changes because the bikes have been outside all winter ?

nope - max is 115psi and I have aimed for between the 100-110psi markings on our guage (new) and of good quality. I have also taken to checking the pressures frequently recently because of the temp changes they have been subjected to, but they live outside so usually cold temps not room temp.

Actually my Durano Plus' are the London versions with a 145psi max.
I run them at 120.

i ignor marks like that, fine for anoth 4000k imo, that said i except no liability if someone follows a fool like me

my old ultremo's looked a little like that, never had a problem with them but it worried the hell out of me.
