Whilst we were touring the US friends doing similar had been told by the Border Authorities that after staying in the States for six months you had to return home for 6 months before been able to return and that 'home' didn't include going into Canada or Mexico.Don't know if this was just the opinion of one BA staff member or their actual rules??? Who are they to say where you can or can't go when not in the US?
I think you'll find that the USA considers they can tell everyone what to do.
