I bike buddy a girl at work who hadn't cycled for more than a decade before getting a bike in September. She started out timid and wobbly, getting off when buses came a bit close and kow-towing to naughty drivers. This morning a motorbike nearly offed her by squeezing way too close round her left side when she'd decided not to undertake a large lorry. I was worried she'd be upset and/or shaken. I was wrong.
She hot-pedalled it up to the ASL to berate him for his bad driving before taking the centre of the lane and cycling confidently round the Hammersmith one-way system while I was far behind.
My work here is definitely done.
