We also have no garage and the shed is barely large enough to contain all the bikes, in fact the full susser won't go in there which is why it lives in the bedroom.
Things will only get worse when the new Summer bike arrives sometime in the Spring, and commuter #2 for when conditions are too rough for commuter # 1...
We always have bikes in the house, don't mind it. Our spare room bed contains bits for CNC machine that Bikepete is currently in the process of building.
We are rapidly running out of space with nowhere else to put anything. One day we will need a bigger house. I'm glad we don't have kids, we wouldn't have the room to put them.
A worn out and scruffy kitchen like ours is the perfect place to fettle bikes. We plan to replace the lot in a year or two so in the meantime, anything goes. It's warm thanks to the Aga and the sink is right where I lean the bikes up against the island unit, so a damp J cloth is there for wiping down etc.
Hmmm. As one who currently has a Brommie in the hall, and who has built bikes in the living room (often), washed bikes in the bath and who once shared a small studio flat with 3 bikes, a frame and a few wheels, I hardly feel able to comment.
Not quite cycling, but my mate travelled to Liverpool to buy a Yamaha R6. When he got there the guy showed hin into the house, and there in the living room behind the sofa was a whacking great motorbike!
