Hello everyone.
I've got a bit of an N+1 itch that needs scratching^_^

I've never ridden a fixed, but love the look and simplicity of them. A couple of the older guys in my club ride the club 10 TT on fixed and I fancy giving it a go. Its a bit hilly in places around here so I'd have to pick my rides carefully or seriously HTFU

I really like the look of the Bianchi Pista (although the price is a bit )

I quite like the price of the Fuji track classic

(it doesn't look as classy as the Bianchi, it does look nice - although white tyres? what were they thinking  )
Of course theres also the charge plug and plug prestige

What do you reckon to these bikes? worth it? any others to consider?
Now, I know you will say build your own and normally I'd agree but I have neither the time nor the will to do it. The spare time I do get I'd rather be out riding and I have too many other projects and jobs around the house that need doing.

Thanks for looking.

still bolt your own together it wont take long and then you will feel more connected to the bike when you ride it

Building your own is strangely satisfying....not necessarily cheaper, but definitely satisfying. Although when I get back to riding fixed, it will be an Ellis Briggs Pista in canary yellow.

The Bianchi Pista looks nice but will be let down by the wheels. The 'Weight:Not Specified' might lead to a nasty surprise if you plan to use if for hilly TT.

Understand your issue with time and projects but this might be a case of buy a decent frame and wheels separately and ask the LBS to do the work.

The pics of the yellow pista on their site are beautiful. Good call Sir!

I've looked at loads of stuff on ebay and it's either really rough, very pricey or too small for me. I suppose its a case of keeping my eyes open for something.
I was hoping to give it a go for not a lot of cash, I don't have parts lying around so it would be a long term project if I was to buy bits and build and as I say time is a big problem.
Thanks for the input so far ^_^

You want the tightest rear triangle you can get for climbing & as light as you can afford, look for good quality forks.
I used to ride 'hilly' 10's on an 80" gear, got reasonable times, & beat some multi gear riders into the bargain.
