Anyone know anything about unicycles? I fancy an inexpensive one just for a giggle. Is their an optimum wheel size or length to look out for? I'm about a 31" inside leg, if that makes a difference.

We had one given years ago, but someone had 'repaired' it, by banging a replacement crank on one side. The repair meant, not only did it have odd pedals, the cranks were different lengths, and just to make it more fun, when one crank was pointing to 6 o'clock, the other was pointing at 10. Cocking up fettling on one of these must be harder than riding it.

Reckon you could make one from some old forks? Maybe forget the pedals to start with and make a uni balance bike.

I got one cheap off ebay, I think St Johns cycles (thorn) were shifting a job lot. Still can't ride it but seems Ok for what it is. I guess there are "pro" models, but cheap one seemed fine for arsing about - which isnt the case for many things
