Having only taken up cycling in January, I set myself a challenge of doing 2 sportives this year to try and encourage myself to keep up the cycling but wasn't really sure I'd be able to build up from my original 7 mile route in time to do 2 long distance rides.
Fast forward 8 months and I completed my 3rd sportive last week with a 36 mile route on a Pedal for Parkinson's run and I have number 4 coming up in 2 weeks when I'm doing the 50 mile Highland Perthshire challenge.
I'm already looking to see if I can fit another one in this year and checking next years options so I make sure any holidays avoid local events that I don't need to travel far for. Guess this means I'm hooked on cycling
