1. You appear not to understand the meaning of the word 'compulsory'.
2. This thread is about bicycles, not executive toys or Meccano for middle-aged nostalgics.
3. A bicycle is not a bicycle if it can be confused with luggage by the casual observer.
4. I thoroughly disapprove of the puerile tribalism between the advocates of one type of bicycle and another. All are equal.

I have one bike, 20 year old steal road bike, thats it, I commute on it, long weekend rides, and in april will be using it for a Triathlon, and some charity rides and more races later in the year.

Beloved but ancient Mountain bike converted into a shopping/leave anywhere/trailer puller.
Several parts of a recumbent I must finish one day.
And 3-4 knackered mountain bike that I intent to one day make into a Tall bike.
