Local Aldis have a different product and it's just under £8, so close to twice the price. I haven't plucked up the courage to try it. Yet.
Ah, it must be more expensive because of our VAT rate, or whatever tax is relevant to alcohol.
True, if it doesn't taste like the one you bought in Italy it would be a waste of money.

Yes, it'll be the minimum alcohol pricing in Scotland that makes it dearer. I'll probably give it a try, although they have two to choose from.

The coarse cut sausages and the thick cut smoked back bacon from the local foodie place.

In the anti-snob line, Lidl's own brand Perlenbacher lager (the stuff in the 500ml bottles) is far better than any other overpriced branded lager.

I have a 25 g bar of 85% cocoa dark chocolate with my coffee every afternoon. They are quite expensive, coming in a 5-pack for £2.49, but I think they are a delicious and relatively healthy little treat.

I think every product i used to swear by has gone by the wayside... due to either expense, ingredient changes or just needing a change.

Although Seabrook crisps remain a favourite... I will buy and try other brands.

That was my previous stance, but I suggest you try Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, both of which I have determined are actually better than Heinz.

Heinz beans are terrible these days, especially beans and mush (oops Richmonds sausages). own brand or Branston beans are far better.

Brooks leather saddles. All my bikes have them.

Selle-Italia ‘Flite’ saddles

The original 1990s design
I got my first one in 1994, & have used them ever since on MTBs/road-bike

The one on my commuter once graced my Dyna-Tech 755Ti (still hanging in the garage

The Spa (present commuter) seen here, during build up, but with a ‘Flite’

I've never understood beans, and in particular the British proclivity for serving sweet carb on soggy carb has always passed me by. We're in violent agreement about Richmond sausages though - Satan himself recovers the 'meat' in them.

Selle SMP saddles for me

Yep, I've tried so many different saddles since '17 before finding a white SMP Extra on Amazon for £37 around Xmas '20 iirc. Not only did it make longer turbo sessions possible, I ended up using it on the road bike outdoors too.

However, setup (the height difference between rear and front peak) is absolutely critical for me. It needs to be ~11mm drop.

Yet I still have a latex tube inside the front wheel on my road bike on the turbo, which can easily lose 15PSI+ on 30mm tyres overnight and effectively increase that drop, meaning ~45mins becomes my pain threshold if I don't inflate the tube daily.
