Meet Raven, on the Forth road bridge. I think the more interesting question is, do you talk to your bike? I've found a hill or two where she needed convincing.

Before buying my own Brompton, I hired one for a month to see if I could get on with it.

The Brompton hire bikes were all a sort of bluey-purple with pink stem and rear triangle.

It was promptly named Dora the explorer by my partner at work. Mostly because we'd recently bought my daughter one:

I then ordered my own and because I went for lime green, it then got named Ben 10 - after another kids' cartoon.

It'll probably not make a difference but I tend to give my bikes cryptic names for Strava so folk don't know exactly what bikes I've got (they probably do!)

Yup, always named my bikes. Not sure why, but I assume it's because I'd heard people do it for their cars. Some of the bikes have gone to the great garage in the sky now, but names and reasons below, there's a bit of a theme.

Ice - Cube HPC - Icecube....
Alan - Giant Defy - So named because on a triathlon I hadn't tightened the seat post enough (only got the bike a few days before) and mid triathlon the seat dropped down to the frame.......6'4" guy cycling with knees by his ears was funny and I was asking anyone for an allen key.
Dice - Specialised Crosstail- It was black and white and not to dissimilar to Ice, so just added a D.
Tino - Wilier GTR - Bought him on valentines day
Sadie - Giant Revolt - Bloody D-Post saddle stems......must be a relative of Alan's as again the seat dropped several times when I first got her so Sadie - short for saddle.

When I was young and fun I had a crudely repainted 90’s road bike, called it Free Bird or the Red Racer.

Now I’m older and boring so I have a matt grey Triban RC120, I call it Triban RC120.

Yes, of course I name my bikes, it's not weird ,weird not to, but I have far too many to name!
The latest acquisition is 'PG Tips' ,it's a Peer Gynt' recumbent, PG after the model name & tips as in me falling of it , I'm bound to sooner or later!
I feel a right chimp for buying it , but will persevere !
