I'm doing the course in February with BC and have work lined up with Pedal Power who have the Hampshire schools contract. I'm observing at a course at a local school next week to get a feel for it.
You are allowed to whack the kids if they don't pay attention aren't you?

I think it's compulsory if you want the ideas to stick, Dave. You should also buy off the older kids with beer or preferably, cheap cider.

You have to call them young persons too, kids won't do. Also, if they're not interested in booze get some fags in.

I believe 'da yoot' is the accepted term, and if it's anywhere round Basingstoke you'll be wasting your time with anything less than Class C drugs.

Fags work, but if you want their attention then vodka and Red Bull. I believe poking with a sharp stick is acceptable if they don't listen, and after 2 warnings the stick should go through their spokes whilst they attempt to navigate the cones (just make sure they have their helmets on....)

Make sure you compliment the young ladies on their bicycle-related luggage-carrying accoutrements, but tell the young gentlemen off if they have inadequate tyre-inflating equipment. "My, that's a fine rack you have there miss, but young sir, your pump looks too small to be of any use".
