Navigation from GPX file on Android

Me and a friend are planning a ride to the coast on Sunday of 80-100 miles but taking a route I am not familiar with so we can stay off the main roads. I have mapped it out in RWGPS but cannot fathom how to upload it to an Android device and have audible turn by turn navigation. Google maps will accept the file and show the route but won’t allow you to navigate the route.



Has anyone done this and could offer a few pointers?

Osmand can do this. You get downloadable map files, so no data useage. Load your gpx file, then ask it to route you along the displayed track. Linky

But I think the RWGPS app will do this for you as well.

Only for paid accounts but I will only ever use something like this occasionally so not worth subscribing

Huge fan of Osmand too, but it's complicated. Before you rely on it, create a GPX of a local route (or your commute), and practice using it.

Once you get the hang of it, it's brilliant.

I think Strava will do it as well.

Tried OSM but every time the map is selected the app crashes. OS is up to date so no idea where the conflict is coming from Frustrating as the app looks good.

Could possibly be a bug. Might be worth trying the previous version if your app store lets you.
