Today at about 16:00hrs on the Glensburgh Road(A905) out of Grangemouth Old Town towards Skinflats(Village) and the Bellsdyke Road.

This is just a warning to all other cyclists who use this road(and there are many) to be careful. I was overtaken by a large tractor that never even attempted to move out - and infact was so close he brushed my arm. Now to be honest most of the motorists on these roads are reasonably considerate and incidents few and far between.
I wouldn't have bothered writing this - if when I past said driver unloading fertiliser in his field he didn't outstretch his arms and do a "what is it jesture" when I looked at him. So he'd actually seen me:angry:. Five years ago I would have stopped my bike - jumped into the field - well you know the rest:angry::angry:xx(. I can't have a criminal record is all I'm saying.

This is a busy road at the best of times and I never ride it without Hi-viz vest / flashing lights(front and rear) because of the shadowing caused by the bushes / tree's. The many side roads and farm entrances make it particularilly hazardous.

There is, at this time of year a considerable amount of farm traffic on the roads - the vast majority of it driven well / cautiously I might add.

But beware of this idiot as he's obviously out to prove something!!!!!

Safe Cycling.

I am always wary when I go along that bit of road, esp. from Skinflats to the Bellsdyke Road. And exp. in the dark. I have no idea why they haven't put lights on it. Although that wouldn't have helped you today! Sorry you had such a fright.

.... just call the cops......
I would have had no hesitation in informing the police.
If the guy had apologised it might have been excusable, but he is still unaware of his failing so definitely requires a word of advice from the local constabulary.
Get along to your local cop-shop first thing in the morning, the next cyclist he tries to overtake might not be so lucky.

Cheers! Lights would be a good idea - spose it all comes down to money.

Have you ever noticed the 10" of pavement at the side of the road - it's not safe for pedestrians either.

Good idea! I'll pop in tomorrow. Like I said, if he hadn't jestured to me I'd have just presumed he hadn't seen me. The fact he seemed to find it acceptable is the worry!

To warn people that "use" that road to be extra careful - its dangerous enough at the best of times, without this idiot trying to run cyclists off the road on purpose.

Its the only road Cyclists can use in this area to access Kincardine, South Alloa and Airth without a massive detour as the River Forth hems them in.

Forewarned is forearmed.

Your right, I'm an experienced enough road user to get over it / deal with it.

It's the other cyclists I posted it for - as this guy is a danger. He uses this road all day for access to his fields.

I'll report it tomorrow(unless "noodley" thinks there no point).

I've often thought, Noodley, you choosing Fletch as your pic why haven't chosen one of Fletch's memorable put downs or observations such as,

"Charmless nerk"
"Don't let the b4stards grind you down"
"Christ if it's only the 'orrible Ives."
The two other things Fletch says to McKay before "Don't let the b4stards grind you down" whilst holding up 2 fingers to him lying on his bunk.
"What you want me to fill it from 'ere!"
"What, with my flat feet?" which I think would be especially good below your feet.

There are lots of others I can't remember at the moment. Perhaps you can do better.
