I know posture is something which receives a large amount of discussion so got one more question to add.

When i began cycling i suffered from the usual aches and pains particularly neck and should pain.

8 months in i still suffer from neck and should ache after reasonable length rides, can anyone tell me common things to look at regarding my posture, bike fit etc...

I am planning a bike fit at some but can't afford it right now so gonna attempt some things myself

any advice would be greatly appreciated

I've suffered the same, and found that I seemed to be hunching or tensing my shoulders during the ride - and so consciously try to relax them as much as possible.

Strangely found that the occasional run helps too.
