I have decided to do a solo charity cycle ride covering on average 65 miles a day for 7 days. Could anyone give me advice on how to train and prepare for this? The most miles I've covered in one day is 77 but I didn't go out the next day and do the same thing again. At the minute my longest ride is only 30 miles so I have a fair bit to go.
I am out 4 times a week weather permitting, 2 of these are in the dark after work so are only 15miles each.
Would you recommend doing strength training to strengthen the body as well to lessen the risk of injury?
I have just over 6 months to train for it.
