The last couple of days on my commute into work, thinking I'm doing an OKish speed, I suddenly see a flash of yellow bike and hi-viz speed past me.

Makes me think, maybe I should start to commute on my Boardman instead of the MTB.

Must work on getting faster, LOL.... but for now I'll just blame it on the fact that "my legs are tired, honest guv!!"

Right. Back to work before my boss sees me.

dont get sucked in, they have probably only just started or have only got a 1 mile commute....you can never make a comparrison without all the facts

(this is the logic that keeps me going every day;))

Keep going with the heavy MTB, then in the spring the Boardman will fly like poop off a dessert spoon.

+1...

When you pass road bikes on an MTB, is the time to start having fun....you'll get there.....

Expecting bad ice this morning, I dug out my mountain bike instead of the road bike to commute on, and I had forgotten how slow, clumsy and heavy it was to ride, my legs were spinning and no speed, I kept looking about a mile up the road wondering if I would ever get that far and how much longer before I get home.

I decided a while ago to get rid of it for a hybrid or a cyclo cross style bike for bad weather commuting but this has strengthend my resolve to get rid by next winter unless I take a fancy to use it for what it was designed for.
