My LightBrite turned up today

And it is essentially a lighter brighter and cheaper version of the classic

Anyone want to buy a Crumpler Seedy Three?

Is this bag worn over the shoulder with a single strap? Doesn't it ride down your back with the weight?

I've got a couple. My first was a stock three colour medium-sized messenger which is still going strong after 8 years. A few years ago a mate was visiting San Francisco. I ordered a large custom messenger bag and had it delivered to his hotel for him to bring back for me.

BTW the cross strap works fine once it's adjusted. I've had the large bag stuffed with my regular commuter gear plus laptop and other assorted office bits and pieces and it hasn't shifted an inch.

I hadn't looked at their site for ages as the old postal rate started at $50. When my finances ease a bit I might have another look.

I don't "get" messenger bags. i mean, i love their style and all that, but don't they just swing round to your side when you're riding? they don't look very stable.

The cross strap stops that happening. It all sort of works like a three point harness. It's great when you just need to get something out of the bag quickly. You just unclick the cross strap and swing the bag around. There is a tether inside the bag in bright red nylon so getting hold your keys for example is easy.

They don't swing over if you have the straps tightened fully.

I've had my timbuk2 since 2009. I walked into an LBS once where a couple of the staff commented about my bag and told me how they lived there's and did I show the same affection for mine. I did. Then one of them went out back to bring his out and told me its 10 years old.
The bags are great and seem to have a self cleaning surface
The only thing I dislike is you need an additional strap (supplied) to stop it swinging around behind you and its an additional thing to set up. The brooks leather bag has this additional strap too but its a pullout type (think of a vacuum cleaner cord sort of).
That price seems pretty decent but I think there are some options iwrh the handle and inner lining it might not have. I think mine is the 17" laptop messenger. All in black with yellow logo.
