new bike advise pls

Is an out and out race bike really needed if you aren't racing, and sportives don't count wouldn't be for me (nor any Specialzed) but the Tarmacs have their fans for the types of riding you describe. The Venge is a head down arse up race bike more

Personally it'd be titanium if I could justify 6k on a bike.

I wuvv the Mercians although have read nightmare yarns on here.

I'm not sure they stretch to six grand though.

I am sure they could get the total to £6k if that is what the customer wanted to spend
