What quality/authenticity are you after? I have a mismatched pair of wheels going cheap, a Campagnolo hub + Wolber Super Competition 81 (late 70s - early 80s) front and a Maillard hub (dated 1986) + Mavic MA rim. The rear currently has a 6 speed block on it, so I'm assuming 5 speed will work just as well. They are a tad tatty but rust-free and should polish up nicely.

I have a set of mavic m40 wheels, dark grey anodised rims with plenty of life left in them, bought for a build that never happened. They should be 126mm on the dropouts but will check tomorrow to make sure, will also check the hub's to see what they are

ok gareth cheers

I am new to the older stuff and when looking for wheels a lot have a 130mm old....my external rear dropout is 126mm and on some searches owners say they will fit as long as not alloy or carbon.....is this correct

4mm is not a lot ( you ask the wife ) But when you are trying to remover or fit the rear wheel on the side of the road its an awful lot and can stress the frame a bit .

older style hubs should be able to be re spaced from 130 oln to required 126 oln by using thinner spacers or lock nuts

Here are a few pics of the wheels I have, Mavic MA 40 hard anodised rims on Campagnolo hubs that spin freely, I fitted the rear wheel to my 1980s bike which has 126mm dropout and it went in perfectly. I dont have any quick release skewers but they are readily available. You are welcome to call round and view them as not to far away, Looking for £60
