New bike day

It was an accident.
love at first sight, if you will.
Evans had a sale on and she was reduced to just over 2/3 of the cost that other local bike shops are selling for.
Also, I only went for mudguards.

She’s clearly not as gorgeous as my Genesis and unlikely to see the mileage that the Genesis does, but even so. I justified the bike as I don’t have a flat bar that will be fun in the mud and bridle paths. Nor do I have a bike with glittery purple paint. Also her prowess at stopping, in a hurry, is impressive. Especially after a near miss with a scooter that nearly saw me in the river, the other day. Bloody kids paying chicken on the river path

I was going to use CTW but we can only use Halfords. I told them that I wanted a bike from a bike shop rather than a motoring shop. Nothing doing so I raided the savings a bit. I have sold a beginners Sax and a beginners trumpet so have recouped a quarter of the cost so it’s all good.

Gorgeous! I love a glittery bike and purple is a great colour. I thought my blue mixte was purple the first time I saw her sparkling in the sun. I hope you have a lot of fun. Hopefully your instruments will go to new homes where they will be loved and played so everybody wins.

My husband keeps telling me to buy a kick stand. I just nod along, without pointing out that the next kick stand that I buy will have a bike attached…

I got home in my best ever time today, and not on a roadie! I was finishing an hour early, to get to the docs, so it was daylight and a little less traffic. For a bike with fat tyres, it shifts a bit.

Genesis because it’s amazing and does everything required of it.

Nice, comprehensive stable of bikes.

I will put the Dawes up on the for sale area this week. I want to give it a clean first. Great bike but, with scooters everywhere on my commute, I need disk brakes to either stay alive or to not plough into some numpty not paying attention. I am not going quickly on those bike baths but it’s still tricky.
