I'd like a new bike for commuting for various reasons. Do you have any suggestions?
The bike will be used on city roads, and I also plan to use it at the weekend for rides. I'll be getting it through cyclescheme (NOT cycle to work - they are different schemes), which means I can't get anything from Halfords (no Boardman, unfortunately).

Primary Requirements
- Rear Eyelet - I carry panniers to work. I don't think a seatpost rack will be able to cope with the weight (I carry two bags).
- 57-58cm Frame
- Under £1000
- Available
- Not a Trek or Specialized - vanity, really. It just seems that everyone has one now. Wouldn't mind something different. Possible a Planet X...?
- Shimano Groupset - I've just grown used to it...
