Seems like a good idea to get a new bike for spring. I'm currently training for LEJOG this winter, and having just the one pushbike means that this one is going to be getting a lot of use in this weather. To that end and to justify it to myself, I think that a new bike may well be in order. (I understand that I can strip and clean the bike - but humour me).

So what's about? I'm pretty sure what bits I want on the bike, but what bike?! I've had a little look, but Pro Carbon from Planet X seems to come up trumps, but I dislike the frame shape.

What I would like:
Carbon frame and fork.
SRAM Groupset (Rival at least), not shimano, not campagnolo.
'Sportive' geometry as it will be used for 100+ mile per day rides.

Oh... And around £1000 lol!

How about a PX Pro Carbon? It's bicycle shaped...they all are...

You'll quickly find your budget goes over £1000 once you start buying decent parts. My Genesis build started from a £400 frame, ended around £1400 using midrange parts

Everything was new other than the tyres!

Interesting that Ribble now offer SRAM :okay:

Theoretically I could swap all my parts onto my new frame for very little outlay. may get a LBS to cut the head tube and fit the headset.

That leaves you without a winter bike however...

Unfortunately I'm not in a position (space or, well... I could afford 2 bikes, but don't want to afford 2 bikes)
