New Bike in 30 Sleeps..

I did write another post on putting a bike in the back of a car and had some great answers from all of you..
Now I have got a date to visit the UK and get a new bike.. we leave Malaga Thursday 20th and arrive Friday 21st in Dover Kent, that leaves me till Wednasday 26th to sort things out, so not alot of time..

So a qusetion
Is there any bike shops in the Dover or even Kent area that would sell Canondale Quick 3 or the Quick SL 2. the Giant Rapid 2 or Specialized Sirrus Expert.
Plus could someone tell me which is the bigger stocked shop at Evanscycles is it the Lakeside or Guilford branch as thet might get a visit as well.

I did google and it gave me a few names but funny enough not the same as yours, the one's that had a web sites I looked at, but not a lot gave any stock figures.. I'm thinking Evans should carry a bit of stock.

I woulnd't be so sure about Evans, I am not sure what they carry beyond what is on the shop floor - and they only seem to even have one of each. I don't think they ever sell Giant. I think you'll need to call ahead for stock and latest prices

I was doing some research last night on the Sirrus Expert 2011, I was told about one at £700 and located it in Hemel Hempstead.. which is about 150 miles from Dover I hoping to try and locate one a bit nearer home.. I agree with what you say I need to email or phone some of these shops and see what they can do to help..
Funny thing is I cannot still find a price for the Giant Rapid 2.. even googled it but no price.

See I'm telling you lies I have found a price for the Rapid 2, its £600 from Cyclesurgery in Croyden but they do have a shop in Hemel Hemstead where the other bike shop is.. interesting..

No stocks at warehouse. But use the tool, see if you can find one in store. They'll be cheaper as I think that site only has RRP.

I got my Giant from CS in Croydon - whichever shop you go to, call first as I say, they don't keep many sizes in store. You can order via the website and get delivered to the store of your choice - they appear to have different sizes of the 2 - look on the US website for geometries (better than the UK site)

I have sent a email to the Croydon branch of CS and just awaiting a reply and another email to Best Bikes in Hemel Hempstead about the Sirrus Expert and awaiting reply there too.

The chaps at Pearsons in Sutton (about 15 minutes from CS) should be able to do you a Sirrus save a trip to Hemel which is miles away and around the M25 Otherwise there is a big Evans in Wimbledon and also an Action Bikes (Trek dealer mainly) - neither very far from Croydon

Which is the Sirrus Expert? Do you mean the Elite? Or there is the £800 comp?

Thats the one but Best Bikes have just returned the email and said the one they had (2011 model) was sold the other day and as your post says they have a 2013 which they could do for £900... £1000 RRP.. but its out of my price range now..
So thats off the shopping list..
PS.. Was a nice bike that Expert but a Rapid 2 is my next target..

One of my personal faves if I wanted an £800 hybrid would be the Whyte Cambridge, lush - CS Croydon had one the other day...

Another to perhaps consider are the Boardman hybrids, meant to be very good for the money (Halfords staff aside)

Well the weekend is nearly over and the Sirrus Expert's have been sold out as is the Scott s50.. that just leaves the Rapid 2 but as yet no reply from Cyclesurgery..
Still got the Canondale Quick 3 and the Canondale SL 2 on standby..
But now I've had more time to think and browse it might not be a bad idea to perhaps get a road bike..
