New bike, Thank you.

After much deliberation and head scratching I have finally not only decided on a road bike but have eventually now ordered it. Thanks to all those people that were kind enough to offer advise which all helped in the final decision.
On top of buying a new road bike that I had a strict budget of (initially £1000) which went out the window, I ended up buying a Brompton as well, (budget totally blown) what a fantastic bike for commuting, I know thats what they are designed for but it makes me smile every time I get on it, would highly recommend one if anyone needs a commuter bike.

Ah sorry, forgot that bit, I went for a Ribble R872 carbon in the end, with Sram Force 22. I took a few carbon bikes out as everyone quite rightly suggested i should and wow what a difference from my old bike, unfortunately I haven't been able to try a Ribble but having read lots of reviews I feel confident it will be good, fingers crossed though hey. As a chap in a shop pointed out to me after seeing my bike, whatever I go for within my budget will be a huge step up from what I have and the chances are I wont be disappointed. Was he he taking the micky? he did laugh a lot... Swine

Yebbut, the fit is most important and you haven't tried the Ribble..

I just have to wait now though for it to be put together and sent, about 10 days, so I'm afraid i cant show you a picture yet, and I have to be patient.

I know its a bit of a gamble, but I have spoken with them and given various measurements and they have advised me on size and fit. They have also said that if I am not happy or satisfied they will arrange to have it transported and changed, Cant ask much more than that really.

Sure am. The only problem I have now is that I am away with work for pretty much the next 2 months so trying to fit any kind of cycling in will be a struggle.
I have also just noticed that you have a bike for sale, Could be interested. I have spent today trying to sort bits on my old dawes out but am afraid to say I think they may have had there time, The bike is almost 20years old, I got it second hand from a chap that did a lot of miles and I have added plenty more.
Not sure when I could get to see it if you have not sold it, but would be interested as a bike to take away with me.

Ive had a couple 'interested', and TBH i thought at this price it would have gone already. Anyway - it is still for sale.

Just tell me when you can make it ? Its in a well-lit garage so any time is good..........

I see it says Large frame, is that a 58? I'm afraid I am away at moment, not sure when i can get back. If the size is about right I may try and get someone to pop around for me, ideally I am a 56 frame.

Yes it is a 58 / large frame.

Its now on ebay too - and has 6 watchers (Bangs head) after a few hours.............

Would it help if i measured anything for you ?
