Am agreeing, 2 miles don’t really need a bike, nothing to break,
no punctures, no late arrival because of ice etc, I’d go that route.

This guy is likely using the C2W to increase his fleet of bikes and will likely not ride to work on any new purchase. He may have bought his existing bikes on C2W but doesn't use them for such. This peas me off no end. No wonder the scheme is not the value it was and the country is fumbarred because of people like hime expecting us other taxpayers funding his bike collection. Why can't he go to Halfords and buy a cheap hybrid such as a Carrera or Boardman bike which would be perfectly adequate for the task of commuting which the C2W scheme is intended for. No, he has to go for a fancy cyclocross bike. Does he need a cyclocross bike to ride to work? On the face of it, it looks like some one else trying to abuse the system and the rest of us will be subsidising him as it is a tax break for people who genuinely need a bike to cycle to work.
