Big riffs, somnambulent head swaying pace, crunchy bits, smooth bits, tumbling chord progressions. Even Ozzy sounds pretty good!

If you're a fan of 'old' Sabbath give this a listen, the six minute mark is where things get really great. The riff at the eight minute mark made me stand up and throw up the horns. YES!

Kudos to all involved!

Iommi is still the riffmeister general.

And sounds as it could come straight off of Vol.4 or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Rick Rubin is a real Sabbath fan - there was an interview with him in MOO I think. They started the sessions by listening to the first two Sabs albums and saying that's what they wanted to do again.
Good lads!

It got all the right ingredients but seems to be lacking something. I'm not sure exactly what's missing though

....or maybe I've been listening to much sHEAVY in the gap between Never Say Die and this

another thing on this recording...the drums... mean they are very cool but they don't have the same old Sabbath 'vibe'
Sadly Bill Ward isn't with the reformed Sabs, so they've used Brad Wilk ( ex Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave).

Listened to it a few more times and Ozzy sounds like he can't be arsed.

I'm sure it'll grow on me.

Still waiting for this to happen, and not sure it ever will tbh.
I have also just listened to a live version of another new song "The end of the beginning" - not good. I think this may be the beginning of the end...
