I've kind of gone the other way. My new phone is a Nokia Lumia 1020 - the one with the 41mp sensor. It's not designed to take 30-odd mp photos (although it can), but to allow for cracking photos at lower resolutions whilst allowing a certain amount of digital zoom without degrading the image, so it doesn't have all of the bulk of a optical zoom lens.

The great thing is, it can store the full resolution image as well as the oversampled one, meaning you can go back to it and reframe.
