I can't help but look at pictures of the coupe version now and start thinking about having a modern powerplant in it (VAG 1.8 to keep the heritage going)

Now you are talking dirty ! Love coupes,used to borrow one from the Skoda garage i worked at for shows at weekends,ours had full 1970's Skoda rally colours so it stood out a tad !

Sold through the 2CV forum I'm a regular on. My last 2CV went for scrap two months ago and I've finally become fed up with filling my Daihatsu Fourtrak with diesel every ten minutes.

The 100 coupe is a good-looking car. A friend of mine had a far less good-looking Skoda 130 coupe in the mid '90s. Always smelled of petrol in the back and the engine position made it feel as though it would do a wheelie if you pulled away too quickly - so not a problem in reality.

Surely that was a 120 or 130?
My mum had the saloon version (4 door) and I mostly learnt to drive in it. It had about four inches of play on the gearstick with the long linkage and if you braked hard the front wheels locked up. Great to work on as the whole back panel came off to access the engine.

Ha,Ha proberly the tank sender seal leaking ! It was under the rear seats !! Had a 136 Rapid for many,many years and loved it......pity you cannot get wife,four kids & clobber in them !

A friend of mine has just got his CX estate back from the paint shop, there's a petrol turbo engine (from a mk2 CX turbo) waiting to go in and the whole inside has been leather trimmed

basically, if citroen had done a top spec CX estate with the turbo engine, this would be it - all the parts were done on different parts of the range, my friend is just slotting them together.

My big sister had a stretch CX with three rows of seats. It was an enormous thing! But pretty unreliable as well...

he's fitting a third row of seats into the estate, it doesn't need stretching however due to the roofline of the estate.

Very cool RT! I remember my dad renting a white Ami 8 (he was a tightwad) and driving us from Hereford to Glasgow in it. It took a long time to get up to speed but it kept creeping on up to 80+mph and he complained that it was 'too fast'.

My uncle had a string of Der Shevos and was very adept (as a former rally driver) of wringing every last ounce out of that pissy little engine.
