New Doctor! Contains Spoiler

Never seen Jodie Whittaker in anything, but looking forward to next season like I haven't in years. I'll miss Bill though...

 

Glad to see a female in the role.

When I suggested Jo Brand would make an excellent Doctor a while back, someone said that it would interfere with the 'genetic make-up' (or whatever) thus making it impossible for a female to become the Doctor!

Long may she reign/practice.

 

I thought Theresa May would get it. Those Tories are good at traveling back to the 1950s

 

Broadchurch. She's good.

 

Looking forward to seeing her in it. 'fraid I didn't get the last two, but then Tennant was a hard act to follow.

 

Will it stop the plummeting viewing figures?

There were clues in the last episode where the Master says something along the lines of "So the future is female" and the Doctor replies, "I certainly hope so"

 

I did give Smith and Capaldi a try, but after Eccleston (good) and then Tennant (brilliant), their characters didn't work for me.
So, will her sidekick be a bloke??

 

Should have been Mila Jovovich, she has form for space and time travel

 

The general male reaction on social media seems to fall either between stating that the Doctor can't be female or wondering if they will be able to masturbate over her.

FFS, so depressing.

 

Because it had all been thoroughly sensible up to then?

the mother of the victim and wife of one of the key suspects in each series. That was a fairly passive character (even when she became the rape counsellor in the third series), so I hope she's able to transcend the passive-victim trope

- The Doctor has always been an influencer, and it would be a shame if the first female Doctor was less instrumental than previous occupants of the role.
