There used to be something called Snuffle baby or something like that - basically vicks for kids - but I don't know if it still exists and whether you could use it on a baby... I remember rubbing a little onto their chest.

Thanks guys. I'm trying the tilting and have bought this pipette thing to suction out the snot. Nice! I'm also prepared (in theory) for a rough night.

Ian...third baby? Glutton for punishment :?:

Any bright ideas on how to help a baby with a cold? Appalling mother that I am, Arthur has a cold already and he's all snuffly.

Stop that! Arthur will get colds and stuff regularly for the next, well, for ever, and it won't be your fault!

In fact, come time he goes to nursery, he'll pass on every bug going to you...

My Mum made us Christmas Stockings when we were little - very basic, two sock shapes cut out of corduroy, sewn together with some ribbon edging and a little pocket on the front, so there was always one more tiny pressie to find - it kept us quiet until after breakfast when we were set loose on the big presents. We were still getting those stockings well into adulthood...

Before that we had one of my Dad's socks each, one year we each got a little tiny mouse dolly (in frilly dress), and mine was poking its head out of the hole in the toe....

A special decoration is a nice idea - it can be his to hang on the tree every year.

Life does consist of feeding, burping, nappies and catching some sleep but he's so gorgeous we don't mind at all.

I do get on here every now and again, but it's all a bit chaotic. But we're surviving and we're happy.

I hope those are cotton nappies!

Oh the joy of the 'sloose bin'

Colds - they just happen, fluids and cuddles, sleep will do the rest ...;):tired:for him

I bet you could just...

good luck - its' allworth it:biggrin:

We're not getting him anything for christmas but we feel really guilty about it already. He doesn't need anything except milk, nappies and love, but I do feel guilty!

When it was WCMnr's first Christmas, and he was a tiny baby, I bought some special ornamnets for the Christmas tree that will always be a reminder of that very first Christmas. When WCMnr is away from home permanently, with his own family & Christmas tree, those ornaments will be passed down to him.

On inspecting the new born Miss t, a kindly old dear remarked to me.......

'Up until your baby is five years old, they're so beautiful you could eat them.
After five years old, you'll wish you had.';)

Welcome to the twilight world of fuzzy zombie of new born parenting.
