At least they are fit for purpose.

They are no worse than sticking knobbly tyres on a MTB. Lets not kid ourselves, 90% of them only go off road to ride on the pavement.....

Depends what you mean by innovation, and when. I think tyres with a manufacturers name stamped into them, so as to leave an advertising trail, have been around for almost as long as the pneumatic tyre.

The Hello Kitty ones are cute though... Not entirely sure about the Nubrella...
