Just turned up at home while I'm at work :bravo:
Missus is opening the box and sending me piccies though ;) Looks very nice, smaller than I thought. She said it looks like it could survive a throw against a brick wall; guess that means it's well built (or that she's dropped it but it's ok ;) )
Can't wait to get home and play, got to wait until Sunday to go out with it though

Got no lights on your bike Fantus?

Plenty of backlight on a Garmin! Ask 'missus' to stick it on charge...so that it is ready for 'playtime' ;)

That's called sods law ;).

Enjoy - I have the 705 and it's one of my best buys (after my Carradice saddle bag.......)

She's already charging it ;) Got all the software installed prior to it arriving as well, so I can just chuck it in the netbook as soon as I get home ;)

Have heard that the backlight is rather, um, 'effective'. Must say I've always been impressed with Garmin kit, used to work at Maplin so we got to play with all the new models.

Hmmm....either you have her well trained, or she wants to play herself!

I have the 705 and find it invaluable when I get lost and I promise you you will spend hours pouring over your ride data!

Have a search on here for various thread about Garmin as there are some top tips and I think on of our users has a blog with lots of brilliant hints and tips for getting the most put of your new toy.

Got it all fitted and been out for a ride with it. Very happy
It took a while to convince it that the way I was going was in fact shorter than the route it had defined though. May have to make a few custom routes.
Very pleased with it, nonetheless. It'll take a little while to get used to all the controls and functions but I learn these kind of things pretty quick.

(The Missus seems pretty impressed too )

I find my 705 is far better as a navigating tool thatn my Camper Longflap

Loving this thing! Used it to get home From Bury St. Eds to Ipswich (25m) after work last night. Going to cycle all the way again tomorrow. Still customizing all the data displays, keep changing my mind on what I want where.

Not having much success carrying cakes with it though... :becool:
