Over the odds ? I fail to see where less than 12 pw , about 1.70 a day fits that bill !

I was more grumping about how people never seem to use these things to help them produce a decent set of books, but that's just a personal thing, given my job.

But given that the phone is a business expense, what benefits to the business does it give that a phone costing half as much per month wouldn't?

I've not come across a device that would cost half as much and would be as valuable as these iPhone 's , to be honest I would keep this one and get a sim deal , 14/15 a month , but it's not compatible with new software any more , so crashes, take it your an accountant , given time your soft and hardware must get updated , an expense ,also , without a good computer could you compete ?same for me , i no longer have a lap top , do it all on phone , so rather than spend on a computer and no need for landline either i do it all with iPhone ,so in effect the 12 a week saves an awful lot of expense in other ways , a drawing emailed can be replied to in an hour or two , rather than travel for miles or wait for post,

I didn't mean to make this a personal attack, so if my posts are coming across this way, then I apologise unreservedly.

Having said that, unless you have some specific software requirement I don't know about, you could do all of the things you mention with a smartphone costing much less a month. I'm an assistant accountant (the chap that actually deals with the sacks of receipts!), but one with a keen interest in smartphones, having programmed for mobiles as a hobby. I think I'm reasonably up on these things. I must admit I don't like the Apple ecosystem much - it's too locked into overpriced, blingy hardware. I can't see the point of a protective case with a big hole in it to let the logo show through, for example.

Bit these are merely my opinions, worth about what you paid for them. How you enjoy your new phone.

4G is another case of you paying for something unnecessarily

Most places upgraded to 4G no longer offer 3G, so you would get 4G regardless £ and others worked this model and did not charge extra

What annoys me is that the same issue of poor coverage occurs. Personally I would rather have a 3G network with coverage than a 4G network with gaps

In Norway recenty, even in the outer Fjords and at sea there was a signal, yet here major cities cannot offer that type of coverage

Currently in the market for a 6,but I would buy SIM free.
Not had a contract phone since 2003,as O2 tried to rip me off back then with a bill 4 times the actual size.
They said I had used it constantly and had went over.
When I explained to them that I was in Tunisia for 2 weeks without it,they told me "yeah well, you might want to ask friends and family if they have used it"
After a lot of hullabaloo, they admitted it was a billing mistake.
Needless to say I cancelled my contract without any hassle from O2.
Loved the phone though,a Nokia 8210.
But pricey buying a new SIM free phone, but it's worth it in the end.
You can chop and change

I have a 6s plus, bought sim free..I pay £13 a month. Much cheaper over a 2 year contract even with the phone costing rather more than the 6s
Is this your contract cost? Otherwise where did you get a 6s+ for £312???

I'm due an upgrade soon and I'll be after either the HTC M10 or an older M9 as I want a smaller phone to sit in my stable alongside the Note3. It will be my last upgrade for a while though, I'll go back to sim only deals then.

If you're after an iPhone 6. Wait and look at the new iPhone SE. It's built into the old 5s case, but has the latest 6s hardware. So a new 4" screen, apple pay, etc, as fast as a 6s But much cheaper, about £350 iirc

I read it as @vickster has a 6s bought sim free. And pays £13 per month for sim only

Yes that's the sim contract. Phone was £615 I think (got 12% discount including 2 year warranty)

Nice one @PhilDawson8270 ,I'll look into that model as the screen size seems to be just right for me.
In such a way that my phones spend a lot of time in my front pocket while working

I'm waiting for it too! I dislike large phones, but until now, if you wanted a small screen you were stuck with lower performance. Top spec performance, with small screen, at a lower price. Is a winner for me!

I'm keeping an open mind on the 6SE. I'm mainly Android based but the form factor of the SE looks like just what I want
yup so am I .

it doesnt do the 3D in depth stuff on the screen tho .but coming from a 4 thats still a massive leap.

I don't like the 6s work issue us with.

as an aside 16Gb 5s are £300 in Argos SIM free. i know this as wifey dropped her contract one down the bog . rice and an airing cupboard hasn't sorted it. even with removing the 2 screws in the base and separating screen from body
