Had this 6s a couple of days now, seemed a bit big at first but used to it now , the extra features are handy, and can get all the apps I want , the speech thingy is a bit mad , it talks way to fast , other than that , pretty much the same as my old 5, one big plus, I thought I had lost a load of tunes , but recovered them from icloud ,

There is normal postal service in Scotland today,so I'm hoping to see mine about 2.30
I have not even got it yet,and already I'm having doubts
I'm just wondering if I should have waited for the SE as @PhilDawson8270 suggested.
The smaller size does seem better for me,I'm thinking .
Just have to wait and see eh ? ^_^

I have an old iPhone 5 that was bought through 3 on contract

It had a problem yesterday where the screen has " lifted"

Apparently the battery has failed and swollen, expanding and pushing the screen out

Out of warranty I suspected that repair for the screen, innards and battery would be expensive, but took it to the Apple Store anyway

However.....

It is a battery fault and the battery needs replacing that will be £59 as it is out of warranty

All the other issues are caused by the battery failure and covered

Brand new iPhone Fir £59 ... I am I'm impressed

I bought the 6 plus as I wanted to use for documents and video

It was big, but has shrunk in usage

The iPhone 5 now seems too small

I upgraded to the 6s plus from the 5s because I wanted a bigger screen as most of my usage is Internet and texts, less so a phone. The 6s screen was barely bigger than the 5s, so would have been pointless changing. I didn't change for the other features (although I did think I might as well go for the 6s over the 6 for a few extra quid)

Worth a try on that!

....worth noting that the Galaxy S7 has gone back to having a removable battery, and expandable storage.

Wife's Note 4 has frozen a couple of times, and only battery removal would cure it. The Note 5 has a non-removable battery.....oh dear.

My Lenovo Ideapad ultrabook had the swollen battery syndrome at less than 2 years old, and it was a non-removable battery.
When I found out how long this would take at the service centre, and how much it would cost, I dismantled the thing myself and threw away the battery - running it off mains only now.
Will try to avoid any product with a built in battery, lesson learned.........

Me, I've just upgraded my iPhone 4 to a 5s, and I am pleased as punch. £20 upfront, £20 a month, and I even sold the 4 on ebay for £50.

Bear in mind that if I had been offered a plan with 4 calls, 10 texts and no data, I would have taken it and thought it was extravagant. I'm really a phonophobe.

I've finished my contract on my 5s and called ee saying I was looking for a sim only deal. £10 a month, 4g with 4gb data and unlimited calls and texts. More than enough for me

I don't see the point in upgrading, the new phones don't do anything extra that I'd find useful and my phone is working as it did when I took it out the box. Probably because it's not attached to my face 24/7 or spend my life texting people or facebooking

Thanks,
Mine isn't one of these.

The swelling is a different issue...

It looks a very similar thing, a defectve dangerous battery, most likely caused by low quality materials in the factory manuacturing process.

A friend just replaced the battery himself on a normally aged iPhone battery for less than £5.

In my case the screen has been forced away as well, so damage is more than the battery
