IIRC 400 you're in the Trafford area and the firm I worked for years ago used to have a contract with TBC so I've spent many a hour digging out manholes on Washway Road and the surrounding area

washway road just brings back memories of IBM and spending 4 weeks in madchester in some premier inn on the washway road

Best of luck with the change, I have done 40 years in the motor trade covering most aspects always self employed and still look forward to every day. In other words I hope it is the trade that is your problem and not you, that way you will hopefully enjoy the new one.

I feel sorry for anyone stuck in a job they hate, I have been lucky I know to be able to change what I do when boredom sets in most people cannot do that without a lot of effort and support. For my current trade I practised a minimum of 3 hours per day 7 days a week for a year all this after work or before, that is what it takes to change things sometimes.

My current thing is PDR, the OP may know what this is others may not.

Good luck. We've had some fun on our road over the years with drains (new build).

Four of the neighbours had blocked drains, so one of the lads borrowed the rods from work and set about lifting man hole covers. Two of them were full to the brim, then the one near us was empty, so off started the job of rodding - smelly !

We also had a blocked drain from one of our loos, so popped open two of our inspection plates and discovered roots had grown down into the pipe junction and travelled up one of the drains blocking it. Roots were removed, then this long sausage of sewage started to creep out. Blasted it all with a hose and no trouble since.

The pipe lining is the clever stuff (I used to work for a Water Utility Contractor).

Best of luck for the new job and the licence. Am sure you'll feel better about it once you get started.
