The grid seems a bit small form the writeup, unless it's the size of each individual cell.

It doesn't say how far up the road it illuminates, which is quite important. If it's anything like the illustrations then it'll be too close to react smoothly unless you've moving at a walking pace.

Nice idea, but it's a 'solution' for a problem that shouldn't exist, if you have decent front lighting. I use a front light with approx. 350 lumens (although manufacturers claim it's 500, but they tend to lie about these), and the light's main beam is directed at the road/path approx. 5-7 metres in front of me. I've never had any problems spotting obstacles and potholes using it.

As Victor writes above, any decent light mounted a couple of feet below eye level will cast enough of a shadow to allow the rider to spot bad surfaces. Fit the same light to your helmet above eye level where it will cast no shadows and you'll realise the importance of shadow as a visual cue.
