I have not been around for a while. I kind of lost my way with cycling but now back to it. I now have an addition to my road bike to play with.

Have just collected this today. In general it is good condition but need a little TLC. The main cosmetic problem is the chain rings being rusty. Any ideas as to the best way to improve them? I have wire wool to attack them with but is there an easier way?

The easiest way would be to buy a replacement chainset and fit that. Can probably be picked up off ebay for ~£20.

A day spent on bike TLC. Chain rings look a lot better now. Tried white spirit and a wire brush to start with. Worked good. The rest of the bike had a good clean and check over and adjust. Looking so much better. Out for a spin tomorrow I hope. :bicycle:

You could spray them with Hamerite ,but as others have suggested e bay may be your best option
