and i thought my 4.5 year old riding solo was impressive. chapeau to the lad.

my son is the only one at preschool who can ride to school on two wheels though…

My lad would love to ride to & from school but the people parking their cars on the pavement stops him.

I had a tear in my eye when I watched that! Amazing for only 3 yrs 3 months too, and he corners really well! I bought my best friend's little boy a balance bike and he still hasn't really taken to it - he's the same age as your lad too.

Oh, I just thought of something!

Did you see my video from the Spezi show?

At about 3m 12s, is the cutest homebuilt child's recumbent I've ever seen. It's a brilliantly simple adaptation of a small Puky bike, with a pair of adult bike forks forming the boom, the dropouts are around the original BB axle, the fork crown is bolted to the front of the Puky and a new BB welded on the top of the steerer tube of the forks. Add a plywood seat instead of the saddle, and a longer chain, and hey presto. Only one bit of welding in the whole thing.

Go on...

I may be able to dredge up photos sowing more detail if you want.

Ooh! That is marvellous Sue!

Am confident Evey would go nuts if I built him a recumbent.

(Which is why I'll have to do it in secret ;))
