The purple sprouting brocolli and beetroot looks especially nice.

Just my local greengrocer. Actually the new pots are Italian! They did have jersey royals but for silly money. Lots of the stuff is local though. I had a mountain of PSB for dinner .

A very crusty light sourdough. Excellent for sausage sandwiches.

Good point about Jersey Royals - you pay a massive mark up just because they are the 1st. I prefer pink fir apple potatoes.

Yes - a smear of Dijon. Those Newmarket sausages are very nicely seasoned so you don't want to overdo it. It's all about the hot sausages wilting the watercress and melting the butter.

BTW, the Food Prog. on Radio 4 recently talked about how much fresher a lot of greengrocers' produce is compared with supermarkets due to the much shorter supply chain.

Picky! It has two seasons. A purist might insist that brassicas benefit from a snap of frost, but I'm just happy to see the stuff.
