Are those non-aubergine colour things aubergines? What was wrong with the colour or did it get scratched off?
They are. Aubergines come in lots of different shades and shapes. There's a reason they're called eggplants...

First picking of Asparagus from my allotment for lunch tomorrow. Been on Rhubarb for about 4 weeks now (unforced). Strawberry plants are looking stronger by the day. Gotta be much better than last years rubbish. Lots of red and black currants going to be had with the flowers that are on the plants.
I have a blackberry called Black Bute (fruits about an inch and half long) which is nicely tied. Raspberries beginning to make flowers.
Good veg season for us amateurs hopefully.
