I am new to tubeless tyres and had a puncture this week. For about 5 secondsthe tyre hissed and the sealant came out of the hole and then stopped. I pumped a bit more air in the tyre and carried on.

Is it a good idea to add a bit more sealant to the tyre?

Yes, in my opinion.

U should only need to add extra sealant every 8/9 months as it does dry out - plenty in there to seal a tiny hole

It took a few seconds to seal - won't need more sealant for that.

This sums it up. You will have lost very little from a small puncture. If you have used the normal 80+ml of Stans there will be loads left in there.

Shake the wheel and when you dont hear anything sloshing about its time for a top up.

4-8 monthly top ups, unless you loose lots of sealant, you will be good.
