Usually the stock wheels supplied with a bike are built down to a price, so always worth replacing IMHO. (if your frame is not too shabby) I managed to get a pair of Rolf Aspin SLs on discount last year for my bike and it transformed it. Lightweight rims mean that the bike gets up to speed quicker, and feels more responsive. It also feels like it weighs a lot less, which it may do as the Aspins are very light compared with Aksiums etc, I think half a kilo. If you're going to upgrade anything on a bike, do the wheels first, you won't regret it.

Another vote for the Campagnolo Zonda's. I've just taken off my Dura Ace C24's which I paid £600. Other than a slight decrease in rolling resistance I don't notice that much difference with the Zonda's which I paid £265 for. The Zonda's definitely give you more bang for your buck and I'd highly recommend them.
