How does the puncture fairy know exactly the wrong time to give you a puncture. Only had an hour to spare so a quick ten mile ride through the lanes. Three miles from home a rear wheel puncture, had a spare tube but no latex gloves. Comment from 'er indoors 'You were a lot longer than I expected and look at the state of your hands!'

How long did it take you to fix the puncture ? 10 miles = 30 mins & 30 mins for a puncture

Went probably nine months without getting a one, then got one. Two rides later got another one. Two rides later got another one, thought sod this I'm going to put those brand new tyres on and did. Two rides later got another one. *sigh*

I keep a small old rag in the pack under my saddle to wipe my hands on, although if it's just a puncture a quick swoosh of your hands in a puddle would have done the trick.

We had plenty if puddles yesterday! I had to empty the water out of my rims today!
