1/ to cover 3000 miles
Hmmm, I don't think I'll be that ambitious. Let's see, I managed 500 miles in half a year. Yes, I know that's pitiful; I know it only equates to me averaging one commute per week for that half of the year. But I'm new to this and unfit too.
So I think I'll aim for 2000 miles - which would mean an average of 2 commutes per week for the whole year.
2/ Get faster and fitter by loosing 2 stone, average 17 mph rather than 14
Two stone would be nice to lose; but having done weight-changes before, I know it's damn expensive having to buy new clothes.
I was averaging 12mph-ish but now that seems to have dropped down

Ever since I got my long trousers, so it must be something to do with them

I shall aim for reaching a 14mph average next year (assuming I keep the same bike)
3/ Cut car usage to a bare minimum, absolutely only when I need to
My ultimate aim would be to drive to work on Wednesdays, to swap over clothes, etc, then. And cycle on the other days. Then one Saturday in three I drive to a music group, I have to drive for that unfortunately (public transport means four buses, leaving about 8am on the Saturday for a 2pm start, and getting home some time on the Monday morning [no buses on the Saturday pm or Sunday to get me all the way home!])
4/ Keep injury free
Goes without saying. It's not really a resolution, that one, is it? I mean, unless in other years injury is not something you've tried to avoid...
5/ Get some kind of nice road bike
Erm, maybe get myself something nice in Cycle2Work when our scheme opens in March. Still haven't decided. I think I probably will as my payrise is likely to cover the expense so I can get a new bike and not notice paying for it...still intellectually in love with the Trek 7.5FX but haven't been out to play with it (or any other bikes, for that matter).
6/ Rebuild my Mountain Bike
Or if not 5, just look after the bike I have. An aged Trek 800 which doesn't know what has hit it in the last six months, now it has new tyres, a rack, functioning lights, and a lot of miles to do!
