surely if they squashed the cans, they'd only need one bag???

In most (all?) US states you can take the cans back to a supermarket and post them in to a vending machine/recycling type deal, and you receive a few cents for each can. If the cans are crushed, the machines can't read the cans bar code.

There can't be many Irish bars in Helsinki, I wonder if it was the same one I went into once! The price of beer there is astonishing! Not in a good way.
Two for starters

You're not looking hard enough

I was expecting to like New York, but I have found it surprisingly boring the several times I have been. A lot of the life has been sucked out of Manhattan by big finance, and the same thing is now happening to Brooklyn. Rio is much more edgy and has more going on. Tokyo is far bgger, more confusing and has better food. I much prefer the west coast cities in the USA, San Francisco in particular.

I wasn't looking at all.
Fair enough. Just make sure your looking when leaving such an establisment. Walking into the wall/missing the door can be embarrasing!

We had a holiday in New York a couple of years ago, I didn't like the place and was glad to board the plane home, I did enjoy the breakfasts though.

Don't forget to give the flight number & departure time of the return flight.
Hope it went ok yesterday/today/the day before on the ride.
