New youtube tactic: abuse and block

Twice last night I received messages (or replies to be specific) from a couple of the more prolific anti-cycling trolls on youtube. I went to reply and found I'd been blocked.

THAT scared of a reply, are they? THAT scared I might correct them on the law. I truly am that bloke in the TShirt "some body is wrong on the internet!"

I would show you all but I forget the videos they were on. Have I really watched that much on there

Incidentally I set up two new vids on there that didnt quite fit in with my main channel:

Having a quick gander by setting up the spare channel as blocked it seems initial comments and PMs are blocked, but replies to comments aint. I get confused with how it works tbh.

Hmm hold on. They must have changed it because when I think about it.. I was replying to a reply.

Careful, the blocking doesn't always work since the scripts are a bit broken at the moment. I've found going to their profile page and clicking block user there is fairly effective. You must get the "Are you sure you want to block this user" dialog and click OK to be sure you've made a block.

It has so far, I think. I can't say I've noticed any further replies when I've blocked someone.

I agree. If they do it to you in person you'd just walk away. Some of the silly ones it can be fun to "talk to" though.

Just went through my old emails to see who I've blocked in the past and why. I've blocked one or two really ugly ones it seems, two of which 2 years back got "mugged off" and said they like to run people like us over, blah blah. Seems their accounts have been closed down. F***ing good. Serves them right.

Loved your videos. As a matter of course I always require comments to be approved and, as soon as I get any troll-like comment, I immediately disallow that comment and block the user. A bit severe, maybe, but life is just too short!
