A quick hello from me, Spud. Mainly use my bike to get to and from the station but slowly getting back into cycling for fun.

I ride an entry level fixie with a flip flop hub, but also have a 1958 Raleigh club bike [Sun Solo] 4 speed sturney archer hub. Am trying to weigh up whether its worth restoring. A first project for me. Something to pass the winter months, though it seems parts would be hard to come by.

Any words of advice, or book recommendations about such projects would be gratefully received.

Cheers for looking.

Getting back into cycling eh? In my experience anyone who rides a fixie is a die hard cyclist so you must have put a few miles in back in the day.

The only words of advice i can offer are to have fun until you get the bug then you can go for it and get into Strava and the like.
Hello and welcome.

Thanks. But quite the opposite. Im an idealistic wally with a heart condition. So cant do miles and miles.

Just like the simplicity of one gear. Not too much to go wrong and easy to fix when it does. Most the cyclists i know think i'm bonkers. But i like it so far.
