hi everyone, im new here as the title implies, im chris, not ridden a bike for a while until about 2 months ago, when in a bid to finally stop the spare tyre getting any bigger i thought id buy meself a new bike.

been out on it a few times and racked up a few miles, but it turns out my bike computer has been set to the wrong whatever setting since i fitted it.

Anyone on here whos good at maths hopefully can help me out.

here go's, my odometer is reading 227.1 miles, call it 227.
i just did a quick shoot to my mums house and it read 0.8 miles, now i know its actually 1.3 miles to my mums, on the route i took by checking multimap.co.uk and tomtom aswell.
i set the odometer with the correct setting and got the correct return journey lengh,

so does anyone know what the reading of 227 miles should actually be seeing as for each 'mile' i did was different to an actual mile.

for every 0.8 it should be 1.3 if that makes sense.

now for me to stop rambbling on on my first post and hope someone can work it out for me as i have the math computing power of a mouse (a dead mouse)

You need to multiply each of your "miles" by 1.625, by the looks of it.

So 227 x 1.625 = 368.875 miles

And welcome to the forum, chrisscott!

In me 'ead son! (Must stop cockneyfying my posts to you Maz:smile:)
Divided the original number by 8.Obviously tinker with the 'point' bit... Multiplied by .5 (ie - divided by 2) then added the two results together.
Ended up with a recumbent the first time around

No need, just change the settings on your current computer. What computer you got and what's it set at for tyre size?

Some of these smart maths types will work out what you need to change it to for you....
