Did my first session today. My question is about the resistance. I'm using an elite qobo digital smart + turbo connected up via ant+. When I approached a hill, my speed went down but my resistance stayed the same as did my cadence. Is this how it works? I thought my trainer was supposed to alter the resistance. It seems to me that zwift is guessing my figures?

Yes resistance should increase as gradient increases. In the Zwift setup page ensure the controllable trainer is your Quobo and its F-EC. Also slide the difficulty bar to the far right for 100% realism. Try these first. Also get the Ant+ dongle as near to the trainer with a USB extension lead

Also worth noting the behaviour you mention is completely normal if you've selected a training session as ERG mode will be active, whereby the trainer will attempt to hold a constant power output regardless of cadence and ignore terrain.
